With the bad economy, anything that is advertised as "free" seems to start viral madness on the Internet. Super Bowl commercials always get the conversation going and the latest from Dockers showing men in their briefs is working some ad magic on the web. When the commercial, "Wear the Pants" was broadcast showing a group of men marching outside without their pants on, Dockers had a hit on their hands.
Dockers free pants commercial is not just a hit because there were men without pants on. It's mainly because they advertised their web address so viewers could enter to win one of a thousand pairs of free men's khaki pants.
Personally, viewing a few more men in boxer briefs instead of plain old briefs would have been nice, but at least there were no Garanimals in the bunch.
Advertisers are getting hip to the Internet and a give-away for free pants is a smart move. Once you enter the contest, there is a "Facebook" logo you can click to spread the word about the contest. Dockers was using some social media smarts: there are people using Twitter to talk about the free pants contest, the YouTube video is going viral (even if it isn't the funniest Super Bowl commercial for 2010) and they are using Facebook to keep people in the know about free Dockers.
Want to wear the pants (or give them to someone who could use a pair)? Enter here at the Dockers Wear the Pants contest site. ...and congrats to the Saints for the Super Bowl XLIV win.
So what are you waiting for go get your pants here !!!!
